Where do you see yourself 3-5-10 years from now? It seems like in order to fill any important position you must answer this question. Personally I understand the importance of having a long term goal-vision but life often doesn't turn out for the better so it is important to keep away from what Albert Ellis called "mustabatory" beliefs. This is the belief that something must happen in your life for it be meaningful. For example I must get an A in this class or my life is over. I think having a vision for the future is very important, as long as that vision is taken with a grain of salt, and that the person knows his happiness does not depend only on it coming true. If I must look to accomplish something here's what it would be... First dance salsa again .. seems like a simple enough task but I had a pretty bad accident and had to stop lessons last year. The doctor said it'll take a few more years until I can get back to such physical activity. In order to go through with it in the future I try to do as much exercise as I am allowed, I also try not to forget all those years of learning by lightly practicing. My next vision.. and one I am very determined at reaching.. is to gain a good position in a top advertising firm in the next 10 years.

To attain this I am in Baruch now, obviously, and I plan to go for my masters (not too sure where yet) in advertising. Also I have a strong artistic background and I'm learning many skills outside of college that will help me along the way (like graphic design).
Here is a 2 page magazine spread I just made for my G.D. class..
Most important on my list is to have a family within 10 years. I know in America getting married and having children isn't usually something people aspire to, but I do not want to wait until I am old enough to be my kid's grandmother to birth them. When it comes to this vision, there really is no preparation or lesson I can take to help me get closer to it. The first step is to find the right person to start a family with.

Your dreams seem very much reachable so go for it. I'm sorry to hear about your accident but the fact that you can still get back to your salsa dancing is hope enough for you to be positive and take the necessary steps to get back on the horse and make you dreams come through. Just stay positive, work hard and you will get what you want. PS there are tons of good guys out there that would love to start a family with you I'm sure but establish yourself first so you wouldn't have to depend on the one that comes along.
Ahhh yes sometimes life does not take you to where you would like it to be, but always have that positive thought and keep trying! Never give up, stand tall and walk with confidence. Think BIG and grab that big picture of yours. Good luck
LOL, i agree with you when you say "I do not want to wait until I am old enough to be my kid's grandmother to birth them." i never put it in those words, but that's exactly how i feel too, lol. i hope you can salsa again also. i'm sorry to hear about your accident. just take small steps so you don't overwork yourself and end up becoming permanently injured! also, i noticed your layout - did you design it yourself? and add the picture at the top? if so, nice graphic design skills. good luck with all your visions!
I feel your pain... Injuries suck!
Advertising! Its a pretty interesting field, I might want to dabble in it just to see how it is... Im sure you'll reach the top in the toppest advertising firm!
As far as starting a family, I agree with you... I think as long as your doing what your doing, the right person will find you.
I believe you will continue on with your love in salsa not long after, and you will master it.
On the other hand, I agree with you there is no lesson or preparation to find someone who we can live with happily and starting a family with. It really takes time. Rather then rushing to meet the deadline, I will rather wait and let it come naturally.
Everything takes time. Your accident is unfortunate, but within time youll be on your feet dancing the night away! It looks like your really talented. I think you have an advantage over other people in the advertising feild since you will have a business degree along with all your experience. Dont give up...its only a matter of time!
